Millie is trained in social thinking techniques and has been a presenter for special educators on mindfulness techniques with children. She incorporates positive reinforcement and supports parents in developing plans at home to support positive behaviors. ![]() She incorporates play therapy techniques, art, and hands-on activities within the therapeutic process to help her clients express themselves and learn through multiple modalities. In addition, Millie worked as a school counselor at the Baltimore Lab School providing direct therapy services and developing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for the students she worked with. Millie has several years of experience working at Kennedy Krieger's outpatient mental health clinic providing individual and family therapy services to children and families. She worked as a 1:1 aide with children with emotional regulation difficulties and later as a mental health therapist and case manager in the school program She worked in the Kennedy Krieger Schools for over 8 years. Millie is a Licensed Certified Social Worker- Clinical (LCSW-C) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from The University of Maryland, College Park and her Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
